Our Beliefs

God is Trinity, one Being in Three Persons, namely Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are equal in power and glory. God is the Eternal One who created all things perfectly. He is the Almighty Sovereign who protects, cares for, rules over, and guides this world according to His good and perfect will.

Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, was the eternal Word made flesh, supernaturally conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary. He was perfect in nature, teaching, and obedience. He is fully God and fully man. God the Father sent Jesus Christ, His only Son, to be born in this world through the womb of a virgin by the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus is true God who took on human nature but without any sin. He came down and was born in order to rescue humanity from sin, suffering, and death because one cannot depend on oneself.

The Holy Spirit is one of the three persons of God, who always works together with the Father and Son in doing the works of God. The Holy Spirit reveals Jesus Christ through the Word of God and causes the believer to receive benefits from the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He furthers the ministry of Jesus Christ in the Church through the spiritual gifts that He gives to every believer.

God created people after His image. For this reason, every person has equal value and dignity. People were created to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. Through Adam, every person has a sinful nature that impacts every part of their being. We commit sin, which is the source of all suffering, and we must receive the penalty for those sins, namely death, separation from God, and eternal punishment.

The Bible is the Word of God without error. It is the story of grace in the Lord Jesus Christ and the instrument of the Holy Spirit which is sufficient for knowing God and living life according to His will.

Salvation is the process through which our Trinitarian God definitively conquers sin. God conquered the penalty of sin at the cross where Jesus received the punishment for our sin and we receive the benefits of His holy life. God conquers our sinful nature through the process of transforming our intentions, habits, and patterns of life. God conquers the consequences of our sin through abolishing suffering and death, a process that has already begun and will come to completion when Jesus Christ comes again.

The Church consists of believers and their families, who are the people of God the Father, the Body of Christ, and the Temple of the Holy Spirit. The Church has the duty to honor God through worship and leading a righteous life, the duty to care for every member to build them up to be perfect in Christ, and the duty to demonstrate the love of God by proclaiming the Gospel and caring for society.

The sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper give us confidence in our salvation through the grace of God. Baptism points to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit in the believer. The Lord’s Supper causes us to remember our redemption through Jesus Christ, to cling to God’s care and provision for us, and to expectantly wait for the return of Christ.

Jesus Christ will return again to judge the living and the dead. Those who trust in Jesus Christ will joyously share in peace with God in new, perfect bodies. However, other people will be judged and eternally punished. At that time, the world will be perfectly freed from the power of sin, suffering, and death, and will be made new as heaven on earth, a place filled with peace and health.
