Who We Are
Grace
We believe that the Grace that God has given us in Jesus Christ is a gift that provides hope for the sinner and renewal and transformation for both individuals and communities. This gift of God enables and compels us to love both our neighbors and the communities in which we live.
City
Our response to this gift of sheer, free grace is that our hearts and identities are transformed and we are made into people who seek the thriving of our city. The gospel changes us from the inside out and produces care and concern for the city with respect to every aspect of life – physical, emotional, societal, and spiritual.
Church
We believe that the Church is the main vehicle through which God brings about the reality of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are a church that believes in the authority and community of the Trinity and of the Word of God. We serve the city and our members through the true preaching of the Word of God as well as the right administration of the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We gather each Sunday to worship God and to care for one another and for our city.
Our Vision
Grace City Bangkok exists to build a family of believers that experience and are being transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ who extend that life-giving grace of God to the city of Bangkok and the rest of Thailand as we grow in knowledge of God’s Word empowered by the Holy Spirit in every sphere of life supported by a community on mission.
Our Values
Gospel-Centered
In general, the gospel is the message of the Bible that God is redeeming His fallen creation through the coming of his kingdom in the person and work of Jesus Christ. In particular, the gospel is the message that we are saved from our sins by sheer, free grace through faith in the finished work of Christ, not through our efforts and works. We believe that the gospel of the Lord Jesus is the only true hope for the world, because it is the very power of God that transforms everything the gospel touches – hearts, identities, relationships, communities, societies, nations. We believe that the gospel message of Jesus Christ is for all. Thus, the gospel is central because it is not only one area of belief, but rather is a power that affects every area of life.
One Family
We are a Thai Bilingual Church. In seeking to pursue the unity into which the gospel of Jesus Christ calls us, we emphasize welcome for all people from all backgrounds and nationalities — those from Thailand and those from other countries. We welcome all who desire to be a part of a Thai bilingual community. Interactions in Bangkok are often cross-cultural, and we seek to pursue unity in the midst of diversity as we reflect the welcome and hospitality that God has given us through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Outward Facing
We are a Missional Church. We believe that the church is called to empower her members to live out their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ in all aspects of public and private life. Based on Jeremiah 29:7, we seek to love God and our neighbors by seeking the flourishing of our city. We extend God’s grace to our neighbors by partnering with others to bring about a city that is a good place for all to live.
